You are Blessed!

Gen 12:1-3 Now the Lord had said to Abram :"Get out of your country,
From your family And from your father's house,
To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing 3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

God called Abraham thousands of years ago to leave his idolatrous circumstances and follow Him fully. The blessing was pronounced over him and it affected his life in every area. Throughout the next generations we see the blessing manifest itself again and again in various ways.

Likewise today we are blessed in this blessing that God pronounced thousand of years ago.
(Galatians 3:13-14) God is not going to bless us but has already done it! (Eph 1:3).

What Abraham was able to see by faith was Jesus that should come century’s later. In Him all the blessings should be contained. Jesus taught us that Abraham saw His day and was glad (John 8:56)

All the blessing is contained in Him and through Him we partake in it. If we are in Him we are blessed!

Curses has no power over you
What does it means for us today? How does it apply? A Lot of people are afraid of curses or they think they need to examine their lives for generational curses and so on. The truth is that a curse has no power over you as a believer. When the Moabite king Balak hired the prophet Balaam to curse the people of God; God turned the curse into blessing three times! (Numb 22-24). When we receive the life that Jesus offers us we are set free from all curses! (Col 1:13)

Financial blessing
Also, we see that as a ‘’side effect’’ the blessing manifested itself in economical prosperity. Abraham was very rich (Genesis 13:2, Genesis 24:1,35)
Isaac, his son was prosperous, likewise Jacob his grandson and so on. When Joseph four generations later was taken to Egypt we see God at work in his life and the blessing starts to manifest itself. Whatever he put his hands to do, God made him to prosper. (Genesis 39).

Why would we as believers today reject this truth from God’s word? Why not allow God to bring the blessing over your life in every area?

Friend of God
Off course, the most important aspect of the blessing of Abraham was the covenant he entered with God. Abraham, was called God’s friend (James 2:23). So are we today, when we accept the finished work that Jesus did on the cross we become friends with God, sin made us enemies. Not only that but we are his children and joint heirs with His Son (Rom 8:17).

What a message to bring to this world. This promise belongs to all people groups in the world today. The blessing is there in Jesus Christ and God blesses us to be a blessing in this world!

Gal 3:8-9 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Walk in the blessing!
